PreEntrepreneur
PreEntrepreneur challenges one of the biggest assumptions about entrepreneurship: that it begins with a business idea. Instead, Rajesh Nair reveals that entrepreneurship starts much earlier—with curiosity, confidence, and the courage to create. Drawing on decades of engineering, startup leadership, global education, and research across multiple countries, the book introduces a practical framework that helps individuals move from passive learning to purposeful action. More than a book about business, it is a roadmap for unlocking human potential long before a venture is ever launched.

About THE Author
Rajesh Nair
From a village radio to a global movement in education
Rajesh Nair’s journey began in Chirayinkil, a small village in Kerala, where childhood curiosity was sparked by something as ordinary as a broken radio. Discovering how unseen circuits created sound inspired a lifelong fascination with building, understanding, and solving problems.
That curiosity led him from engineering and product innovation to entrepreneurship, research at MIT, and educational leadership across Asia and beyond. Over more than a decade of field research and workshops conducted in multiple countries, Rajesh has worked with thousands of students, educators, and innovators to explore one central question: How do we help people discover what they are truly capable of creating?
PreEntrepreneur brings together that lifelong journey, offering a practical framework designed to help future generations develop confidence, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking through meaningful experiences.
About The Book
PreEntrepreneur
Entrepreneurship is often viewed as the final destination. PreEntrepreneur argues that it is only the outcome of a much longer journey.
Drawing from years of research, classroom experimentation, engineering practice, and entrepreneurial experience, Rajesh Nair introduces a developmental framework that explains how curiosity evolves into creativity, how making leads to innovation, and how innovation ultimately becomes entrepreneurship.
Through personal stories and real experiences from schools, villages, universities, and startup ecosystems around the world, the book demonstrates that entrepreneurial thinking is not reserved for a gifted few. It can be nurtured through meaningful exposure, practical learning, and environments that encourage experimentation instead of fear.
Rather than focusing solely on launching businesses, PreEntrepreneur explores how individuals develop the confidence, resilience, and problem-solving mindset needed to create value wherever they are. It is an invitation to rethink education, opportunity, and the way future innovators are prepared.

What Readers Are Saying
The impact of PreEntrepreneur is best reflected through the people and communities it has influenced.
Rajesh Nair’s PreEntrepreneur offers a compelling framework for developing this capability—from empathy and problem discovery to innovation, entrepreneurship, and creating meaningful value for society.
As an engineering educator and researcher, I believe this book carries an important message for the future of education. We must move beyond teaching students to solve predefined problems and instead empower them to explore, identify meaningful challenges, create solutions, and validate them with real users.
I strongly recommend this book to educators, university leaders, policymakers, and anyone committed to preparing the next generation to become tomorrow’s innovators and job creators.”
The traditional education operating system that is based on a standardised curriculum, penalising mistakes, and measuring potential through exams, requires reimagining. Rajesh's life work has been a persistent journey of reimagining education based on a simple yet profound premise: an entrepreneurial mindset can be systematically nurtured through education.
Drawing on decades of experience as a tech founder, MIT researcher, and pioneer of global grassroots maker movements, he demystifies the path from the classroom to the startup. Grounded in hands-on experiments across rural India, Southeast Asia, and the United States, PreEntrepreneur maps the essential metamorphosis every changemaker undergoes.
Whether you are an educator seeking to convert classrooms into active learning spaces, a policymaker designing scalable workforce initiatives, or a parent preparing a child for the age of AI, PreEntrepreneur provides a field-tested blueprint for transforming untapped potential into fearless leadership.”
